The hospitals in the North of Israel (Rambam, Bnai Zion, Carmel, Afula, etc.) are full of excellent opportunities for projects and also many of the professors are already affiliated with our school.
In the first year many of our professors are doing research and it is totally ok to ask them to be your mentor.
In your second year, the hospitals where we do our ICM course are an ideal setting to find mentors and get the work done. If you can stay one hour extra each week throughout the year you can knock out your thesis without any trouble. Additionally, professors not at Rambam are more likely to have opportunities for you because the Rambam can get saturated with students from both our program and the Israeli program.
Just ask doctors that you like and find out if they have projects they are working on and if you can participate in a capacity in which you can meed your thesis requirement as well as advance their research.
